2021 Shutterstock Creative Trends

The 2021 report is Shutterstock's 10th annual creative trends report. My goal at Shutterstock is to inform and inspire all creators, from creative directors to vloggers and small business owners. This report is created to announce data-driven trends while inspiring creativity by showcasing our content in the most compelling way. As the Spoke Person and Creative Director for this company flagship initiative, I strategized and directed the trends based on search data and industry insights, led the social strategy that boosted engagement, and spoke in multiple webinars, broadcast, and interviews for various media outlets.

With culture defining marketing more than ever, each trend in this report carries with it some part of the atypical 2020 we had. Some illustrate creators finding new ways to express creativity and produce content during lockdown, some highlight the beauty of inclusivity and unpredictability, some evoke the hope, positivity, and escapism that we yearn for.
